Simple Viewing Instructions
Dover Design Manager has two modes of operation: "Browser" mode for quick viewing of the contents of your Dover CD, and "Edit" mode for manipulation of a selected image.Browser Mode
To open Design Manager in "browser" mode, double-click on the Design Manager icon on your desktop. The browser window opens. There are three panels in the browser window.
At upper left is the "file-tree" panel. All of the drives, folders, and files under "My Computer" can be viewed and navigated within this panel. When a Dover Clip Art CD is placed in your CD drive its icon and name will appear in this panel at the level directly beneath "My Computer." Clicking the "+" sign beside the Dover CD icon will open it and allow you to view its contents; you can continue to navigate downward by clicking the "+" sign beside subsequent sub-folders. All Dover Clip Art CDs have an "Images" folder, inside of which will be either sub-folders or image files depending on the type of clip art (Color or B&W) and the number of images on the CD. Once you've navigated down to folders containing images (they have names like "001-150," or "151-300"), you can click on one of these folders to display its contents in the "thumbnail" panel.
On the right is the "thumbnail" panel. When a folder of images on the Dover Clip Art CD is clicked on, small "thumbnails" of those images are displayed in this panel. By double-clicking a thumbnail the image is opened full-size in "edit" mode.At lower left is the "preview" panel. When a thumbnail image in the right-hand panel is single-clicked a medium-sized copy of that image appears in the preview panel.
